Audience Research: Feedback on Pitch
Although I already liked the name Vista, which is another word for view to reflect people's 'views' of the world, it was also the most popular choice, which 6 out of 13 people voted for. The second most popular name was 'Capture', which had 4 out of 13 votes, however this sounded too much like a photography magazine, so Vista is the best name for my magazine.
The most popular price for the monthly magazine is £2.99. It is more expensive than most C2DE magazines as this targets a middle to upmarket demographic (AB), however as it is 16-25 year olds, most of this age bracket will be in sixth form/college/university so won't have a lot of money, therefore it can't be too expensive.
The people who took this survey fit the age bracket, therefore their interests are key when deciding what to put in the magazine. The most popular topics are the environment, mental health, politics, film, social media and culture. Each edition of the magazine will be on a different topic, and these will be taken into account.
For the magazine to engage the audience, I needed advice on what to put in as extras. Most people would like to see top tips, quizzes, and a write-in to encourage audience interaction, all related to the topics reported in the edition. These will feature in the cover lines of the front covers, the contents page and have a bigger section for each with easter eggs on the website.
